After substaintial prodding from Nana and Poppy, I finally have gotten caught up with posting pictures... I have an album of July family pictures, and we're doing the "Tuesday Pictures" thing again with Emily... purely coincidence that Emily's birthday also fell on a Tuesday! Emily's close to 10 pounds already... it took Abbey about 3 months to get there!

I went back and posted stuff from a bunch of family "events" in July. I back-dated the posts to when the stuff actually happened, which may be cheating, but who really cares... it's our blog! Plus, I'm not sure that all 3 of our faithful readers really care.

David's Family Visits

We had a great time this weekend as David, Kate, and Mikey joined us from Chicago. Abbey was certainly thrilled to spend time with her little cousin Mikey. He seemed to be okay with no longer being the "baby" now that Emily is on the scene. We spent a lot of time playing indoors (it's been super hot outside), but on Saturday morning, we managed to get out of the house long enough to enjoy the pool.

Today, we celebrated Abbey's second birthday... She's growing up so fast! This year's party was a low-key affair compared to last year, but she was happy to be joined by both sets of grandparents. Mom made buttermilk pancakes and a "Blues Clues" chocolate cake for desert... a perfectly wholesome breakfast when you're 2 years old. Once she came down from the sugar rush, she had a great time opening presents, including a play kitchen. I've been reassured that a perk of having multiple daughters is an ample supply of baked goods.

The week after Emily arrived, Nana and Poppy were kept on their toes entertaining little Abigail, giving her the attention she deserves. They went to several parks, including the Winton Woods wet playground, Sharon Woods wet playground. Both are great places to take kids, and are essentially "free" as county parks. Thanks Nana and Poppy!

Coming Home from the Hospital

I posted some pictures of Amy, Emily, and I coming home from the hospital. Abbey was really excited, and seemed to be happy to have a new "roomate". We'll see how that lasts, once they have to start competing for attention and toys!

Introducing Emily Virginia Waun!

We're proud to announce the arrival of the newest addition to our family, Emily!  As I write this, Emily's just 5 hours old, and we're recovering from 26 hours of sleepless labor.  For now, here are just the vitals...  Maybe we'll be able to post more details tomorrow.  Good night (and Happy Birthday, Amy and Emily!)
